EMU LNLS/Sirius beamlines helium liquefier

Abstract

We propose to purchase a helium liquefier to be attached to gas recovery setup used in cryogenic experiments on the LNLS/Sirius beamlines. This will allow low temperature x-ray experiments to be carried out by the entire LNLS external user community efficiently. This will allow addressing problems in condensed matter physics, such as magnetism, superconductivity, topology, among others. For example, this will allow X-ray diffraction experiments to be carried out at temperatures < 2 K with applied pressure and magnetic field, which will be the only place in the world where this is possible.
