Abstract
This Scientific Initiation project aims to provide students with comprehensive training in the field of biomagnetism, with an emphasis on detecting magnetic fields generated by living organisms. Initially, a systematic review of recent literature will be conducted, followed by a detailed study of optically pumped magnetometers (OPMs) and their application in examinations such as magnetocardiography (MCG) and magnetoencephalography (MEG). The work also includes taking measurements in physical simulators that reproduce biomagnetic signals and prospecting for fields generated by other biological sources, such as plants and small animals. The program also includes monitoring ongoing research in the laboratory, covering various biomagnetic applications. The student is expected to acquire a solid theoretical and practical foundation, preparing them to later develop a more specific and in-depth project in the field. (AU)
