Abstract
The Institutional Reserve Application Plan to Support the Research Infrastructure of the Araçatuba School of Dentistry (FOA) aims to encourage the sharing of research infrastructure among faculty, research groups, and graduate programs, thereby maintaining quality and increasing scientific productivity.Considering MCTI Ordinance No. 9,037/2025, which establishes the licensing of activities related to the breeding, maintenance, or use of animals for teaching or scientific research, as outlined in Article 11 of Law No. 11,794 of October 8, 2008, carried out in facilities of public or private institutions previously accredited by the National Council for the Control of Animal Experimentation (CONCEA), FOA has established an action plan to comply with the legislation and comply with the ordinance above. The overall responsibility for the Animal Facility lies with the Board of Directors of the Araçatuba School of Dentistry. The Board, along with the assistance of the Animal Facility Technician, Dr. Daniela Scantamburlo Denadai, developed the necessary activity plan to comply with MCTI Ordinance No. 9.037/2025 and, consequently, obtain the Central Animal Facility's license. Among the required measures are changes to its physical structure to meet specific requirements for breeding and maintaining rodents and lagomorphs, ensuring that all procedures align with the ethical principles of animal welfare and biosafety. This proposal aligns with the current needs of the Araçatuba School of Dentistry, which has a strong tradition of research using animal models. Thus, the objective of this proposal is to adapt the Central Animal Facility's physical structure to maintain and improve its research infrastructure, thereby strengthening research groups and graduate programs, and consequently elevating the level of research to international publication standards.
