Abstract
Depressive disorder is characterized by anhedonia, self-care impairment, persistent sadness and negative thoughts for, at least, two weeks. Exposure to stress during infancy and adolescence, periods when the brain undergoes intense changes and maturation, may increase the risk to paychiatric disorders in adulthood. The purpose of the present proposal is to assess the effects of maternal deprivation (DEP) in two ages of the neonatal development, associated or not to a traumatic stimuli during adolescence in male rats, on depression-like behaviours.
