Abstract

The integrated project comprises 3 lines of investigation involving purified molecules of Paracoccidioides brasiliensis aiming principally to correlate structure and function, and its importance in the pathology of paracoccidioidomicosis (PCM). The 3 lines involve principally the expression of the principal diagnostic antigen of PCM in appropriate vectors, the biochemical and molecular biological study of a serine(tiol) protease recently described in our laboratory, as well as the identification of the epitopes of gp43 responsible for protective immunocellular reactions in PCM.
