Abstract

The objectives of the project are the specifications and the basic design of an open system to be used in applications of control of continuous and discrete processes, office, tower block and commercial premises designs. The implementation aims to obtain a laboratory for the study of new solutions engineering solutions, applied to the automation in the various areas, as well as the verification of the performance of new methodologies of design and implementation of digital system for real time with strict requirements of reliability and availability, both in terms of architecture and in terms of design, implementation of hardware and software. The system is open, since its architecture should permit various configurations, so that its use may be possible in any application, with levels of performance and complexity appropriate for each one. The hierarchical, distributed and modular architecture, compromising processors of the same standard, nevertheless with performance adequate for its function. (AU)
