Abstract

The present work intends to initiate the feasibility studies on a proposed process where coal liquefaction and gasification are combined to produce a wide range of gases and liquids. In addition, the gasification of the liquefaction residue would be optimized having in mind power generation using gas turbine. The methodology will be set in such a way that application fm: general coal will be possible. The milestones of the project will include simulations of the liquefaction reactor as a zero-order and equilibrium model using ASPEN code, optimization of the fluidized-bed gasification of liquefaction residue using a comprehensive code and optimization of the whole processing unit combined with the power generation plant.
