Abstract

The project aims to study basic mechanisms of arterial pressure regulation which altered lead to hypertension through a multi-disciplinary integrated approach. The team is made up of physiologists, clinicians and molecular biologists, all with experience in the field of experimental and clinical hypertension. In an integrated manner the study will cover aspects of genetics and molecular biology and alterations in the regulatory mechanisms or arterial pressure with emphasis on the neurogenic component and its interaction with the renal component.
