Abstract

This project aims to determine de optimal asphericity (refractive surfaces) and the refractive index distribution on heterogeneous lens, in order to minimize optical aberrations. Both situations can be found on human eye (cornea and lens). It will be simulated an extense object located accordingly 20/20 condition. Ray tracing calculations alied with simulated annealing optimization method will be implemented, in order to model the optical properties and search for the optimal conditions. The results will be validated from the spatial image distributions, comparing with spherical and parabolic systems. The results can be applied to microscopes and telescopes, changing the refractive index and object position. (AU)
