Abstract

A total of 60 newborn rats will divide into 3 groups: G1 (n=12) control group, G2 (n=24)hypoxia-reoxygenation group, and G3 (n=24) L-arginine pre-tratement by intraperitone injection and hypoxia-reoxygenation group. Pups of the groups 2 and 3 will stress twice daily with asphyxia followed by cold stress to induce hypoxic intestinal injury, whitch is relevant to human necrotizing enterocolitis. Breathing 100% CO2 for 5 minutes in a chamber followed by 5 minutes 100% O2 breathing, and after this protocol will repeat for 3 days, the pups will anesthesis and sacrific on 7,14 and 28 days. The gastrintestinal tract will remove e examine, histopathological study, S-100 protein, specific neuronal enolase (ENE) and lipid peroxidation analysis by measuring the concentration of the malondialdehyde (MDA), will performe.
