Abstract

This project intends to make a biography of prince D. Luís de Orléans e Bragança (1878-1920), princess Isabel second son , grand-son of the emperor Pedro II. His life and work are subject of great interest for the Historiography in the way that besides being a writer, he participated on Brazilian politics during the First Republic ,through relations with the monarchist movements wich challenged the republican sistem with the purposal of restoring the royal power. Revisiting the theme is legitimated , besides its significance for the knowledge of the politics during the period, for the memorialistic movement wich will follow the second centennial of the Royal Family arrival to Brazil(1808).
