Effect of light curing modes and light curing time on degree of conversion and leachability of uncured substances of bonding systems and composite resins

Abstract

The aim of this study will be to evaluate the degree of conversion and the leachability of uncured monomers of two bonding systems (1-AdheSE; 2-SingleBond) and two composite resins (1- 4 Seasons; 2- Filtek Supreme). They will be randomly divided into eight experimental group: four polymerization modes ( I- Halogen - 500mW/cm2; II- Halogen - 1100 mW/cm2; III- LED - 800 mW/cm2; IV- LED -1600 mW/cm2) and two light curing times (A- manufacturer"s recommended time: 20 s for composite resins and 10s for adhesives; B- time modified for each polymerization time achieve the same irradiance). To verify the leachability of uncured monomers, it will be used the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methodology. And to determine the degree of conversion, it will be used the Fourier Transform Infra-Red spectroscopy (FTIR). The results will be submitted to statistical analyses. (AU)
