No-tillage grown of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum L.)

Abstract

It will be carried out experiment of no-tillage grown tomato above remainders vegetable’s straw of the following cultures: spontaneous vegetation, crotalária (Crotalária juncea), mucuna-dwarf (Mucuna deeringiana), pearl millet (Pennisetum americanum) and conventional soils tillage as the witness. The experimental design will be completely randomized blocks, with five replications (5 x 5), resulting in 25 experimental units. The characteristics evaluated will be: productivity of dry matter of the species that will form the cover above the soil (t ha-1); physical, chemical and microbiological characteristics of soil; availability of water in soil; temperature of soil; spontaneous vegetation establishment and productivity of the tomato plant. The experiment will be carried out by two consecutive years to check out possible increase in the soils fertility and productivity of the tomato plant in this system of cultivation. (AU)
