Abstract
To give continuity to a PhD thesis with the implementation of an architecture for the calculation of the Fractal Dimension in real time . This thesis deals with the implementation of an architecture for the calculation of the Euclidian Distance Transform (EDT) and Skeletonization, digital image processing techniques very used in the pattern recognition area. In that thesis it was proposed, as future works, the implementation of processing modules that allowed the calculation of the Fractal Dimension through the method of Minkowski, that uses EDT. In such a way, this work considers the improvement of the architecture with the increasing of the processing capacity and the implementation of the modules that allows the calculation of the Fractal Dimension in real time.
