Abstract

The species of green lacewings of Order Neuroptera are characterized as voracious predators in the larval stage and sometimes also in adulthood. Individuals adults are found in several agroecosystems and have diversified diet. The species have been recognized by study of external morphology and confirmed by studying the morphology of the structures of the male genitalia. However, increasingly the fact that the environment has important role in natural selection of populations. The selective pressures acting on the populations showing intraspecific changes that ensure its survival. These variations are not always easy for recognition. The use of molecular techniques and morphometric have extended the ecological knowledge and allowing systematic studies on population structure, geographical variation, relations of similarity, among others, for proposing phylogeny addition. The objective this study is to present the intraspecific variation of populations of Chrysoperla externa through the study of genetic variation and morphometric in individuals of populations from different states of Brazil and Venezuela, for this will be used two mitochondrial genes, the COI and 16S rDNA and ITS1 ITS2 nuclear regions, in addition to "landmarks" in the wings, analyzed by morphometry geometric. The results could provide important information to the knowledge of the variability of populations and sub-populations of Chrysoperla externa, regardless of country of origin, allowing comparisons among all populations, and consequently the establishment of its relations with the environment in which they are allocated, providing knowledge about the degree of genetic distance among the sub-populations to the understanding of the process of differentiation between them.
