Clinical, serum biochemical and immunological profile of China's geese (Anser cygnoides) vaccinated or not against Newcastle disease. Investigation of the state of virus carrier

Abstract

This study aims the characterization of the importance of vaccination against Newcastle disease in China's geese (Anser cygnoides). There will be used 120 China's geese, distributed at random into 4 different groups, vaccinated or not against ND: G1 (Ulster 2C), G2 (B1), G3 (LaSota) and G4 (control - not vaccinated).Clinical, serum biochemical and immunological parameters of vaccinated Chinas"s geese against Newcastle disease wiil be evaluated. The immune response will be evaluated by the Hemagglutination inhibition test (HI test). At 60 days of age, all groups will be challenged with a pathogenic virus (NDV) suspension, EID50 = 108,15 /0,1 mL and a group of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) chicks will be used as control of the virus. Cloacal and tracheal swabs from each bird will be collected after 6, 10, and 20 days post-challenge for viral isolation in through of the reaction in by the Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR). In China's geese from control group, the viral isolation will be obtained from to 20 days after challenge (AU)
