Abstract

There evidence that glyphosate can interfere in soybean manganese and phophorus absorption/redistribution. Hence, use of glyphosate as a weed-killer on soybeans, even in transgenic varieties (RR- round up ready), may affect current recommendations of Mn and P fertilization. Four experiments will be conducted to study the effects of glyphosate on P and Mn absorption kinetics, on soybean response to Mn and on P and Mn partioning in the plant. The experiments will be conducted in greenhouse, using nutrient solutions and in pots with soil. The experiment 4 corresponds to an undergraduate project (fellowship) supported by FAPESP (Proc. 06/52321-1). (AU)
