Abstract

The present work objective is to determine the economic stage to reform the sugarcane field during sugarcane crop cycle, by analyzing the economic viability of activity, in west region of São Paulo State. It also objectives to raise and evaluate the activities used to reform, harvest systems and types of cut, load and transportation contracts that are done between sugarcane suppliers and processor plants, involving the Region Development Offices of General Salgado and Araçatuba, located in west of São Paulo State. The proposed methodology consists of obtain the basic data of production process of sugarcane, by doing interviews with sugarcane suppliers that belongs to associations located in each Region Development Office. The following methods will be used to analyze the investments: the Net Present Value, the Internal Rate of Return and the Equivalent Annual Value - EAV as economic tool to help to determinate the economic life (number of cut) to reform the sugarcane field.
