Abstract

The fluorosis became one of the preoccupations in the dentistry, accepted environment that has been associated to the excessive ingestion of fluoride. The biggest preoccupation with the chronic toxicity of the fluoride concerns the dental fluorosis considered like a disturbance or defect of formation from the dental enamel caused by the exhibition extended to high concentrations of fluoride during the period of development of the dentition. The present study is justified because are not data and / or concluding inquiries that demonstrate scientifically the real influence of the fluoride contained in products to base soy on the incidence of fluorosis in the primary dentition. The importance of know each other such effects of the fluoride contained in the products to the base of soy happens owing to the countless indications that this product has at present, in special in the cases of suggestive diagnosis of allergy to the present lactose in the milk of cow and diverted. This inquiry has like objectives identify the knowledge of dentistry, nutritionists and medical pediatricians as for the indication of products to base of soy and the correlated to fluorosis in children. To identify 5 products to the base of soy more recommended by the investigated professionals and to determine the concentration of fluoride, of match and of calcium, contained in them. The sample will be constituted by dentistry, pediatricians and nutritionists who develop his labor activities in the Bauru-SP. The sample will be cluster selected: dentistry (n=40), nutritionists (n=20) medical pediatricians (n=20) and children (n=120), distributed between the male and female. The criteria for inclusion of the subjects of the inquiry in the sample will be: 1) authorization to participate of the inquiry; 2) to be registered in the respective advice; 3) permission of the responsible or parents to examine the children; 4) the children who will be in the schools in the day of the examination. After the application of the questionnaire and identification of 5 products to the base of soy, will be valued to the concentrations of fluoride (Method of Taves), of calcium and phosphate (Method of Fiske and Subarrow), in the products most recommended by the participants of the inquiry. When the presence of fluorosis in primary teeth will be identified, will be given the position reduce the prevalence in permanent teeth. The fluorosis in deciduous teeth can be preditor for prevalence in permanent teeth. The statistical analysis will be of the descriptive type, presented through absolute and relative frequencies. The test of qui-square will be used for the analysis unvaried. There will be appreciated the Odds Ratio (OR) and the respective intervals of 95 % of confidence for the indicators that will remain in the model of multiple regression. The level of signification adopted will be 5%. On the risks of taking place I increase the knowledge in the incidence of fluorosis, it is of great relevance for the professionals of the health. From these results clinical and epidemiological surveys will be able to be developed by them. (AU)
