Utilization of lichens as bioindicators of atmospheric contamination by natural radionuclides (Ra-226, Ra-228, Pb-210 Po-210 and U e Th isotopes) and stable lead in areas affected by TENORM

Abstract

The main objective of this project is to determine the natural radionuclides ((Ra-226, Ra-228, Pb-210, Po-210 and U and Th isotopes), the REE and stable Pb isotopes in lichen samples and soil collected in the surrounding of phosphate fertilizer industries and in lead and tin industries. The following methodologies will be used for the determination of radionuclides: alpha and gamma sepctrometry. For the REE determination the neutron activation analysis will be used. For Pb determination the technique choosen will be TIMS. (AU)
