Abstract

With the necessity to solve the increasing numbers of tracheal stenosis, the use of tracheal orthesis became more important. However, the anatomy of tracheobroncheal tree is still deeply unknown, and because of this the orthesis used nowadays have measures from the USA or European population, which might not be the same as Brazilian people. Objectives: Stratify the morfometry of Brazilian adult corpses in both sex. Methodology: Make a dissecation of 70 (seventy) corpses with several tracheal and bronchial main measures both in situ and after completely removal. Inclusion Criteria: Brazilian corpses without tracheal disease or bronchial disease as well as congenital diseases, and between 18 and 65 years old. Results: Offer a reliable profile of the tracheobronchic anatomy from Brazilian people not yet available. (AU)
