Abstract

The search for environmentally friendly alternatives for the disposal of sewage sludge has been one of the biggest challenges in wastewater treatment processes. Using these materials in the production of forest seedlings, is emerging as a promising technique. In addition to the final disposal of waste generated at stations Sewage Treatment (SETs), the Ribeira Valley's challenge to the provision / utilization of waste from the industrialization of the palm and banana, activities with considerable pollution potential. Aim of this work is to enable a technical and eco-friendly destination for the final disposal of sewage sludge generated by TEE in the city of Ilha Comprida, SP, and the waste of agricultural industries of palm and banana plantations, enabling the production of substrates and plants quality forest. The work is scheduled to be executed in three steps: a) the first provides the physical, chemical and biological sludge, b) the second stage includes the composting treatment for recovery and stabilization of the sludge, besides the incorporation of different proportions of waste from agro banana and peach palm forming the base substrate. This step also provides the physical, chemical and biological materials produced by the standard tests for assessing the quality of substrates and seedling tests. The research, scheduled to be held in two years, will be conducted in the Experimental Campus of Record. The expectation is that substrates are produced from quality, low cost alternative for the disposal of waste from the SETs and agribusinesses in activity in the Ribeira Valley (AU)
