Abstract

The objective of this project is to analyze the poetic of creation and manipulation of images, in real time, by VJs and artists who perform in art galleries and studios. We understand poetic as poiein, work of the spirit that exists only as an act, quoting Valéry, and causes a continuous connection between the voice that exists, that comes and must come.We will focus on the dialogue between these audiovisual performances presented by VJs or not, with television, theatre and classic and pop concerts in presentations by authors such as Spetto, Raimo, Jodele, Duva, and collectives such as Embolex, Bijari and Feito à Mãos, amongst others. To achieve such objectives we will discuss the concept of remix, of "live", the change of parameters of image speed as resources of event constitution that result a change in the quality of image. The image here is as main target, as raw material of meaning. The main hypothesis of this research is that the performances that create live images reconfigure and redesign notions of space and time on screen as well as in the projection environment. This happens due to the way these images are apprehended and produced, namely to the composition of the image, its rhythm and physical space. The proximity between communication and art, or media and art, are underlying the questions related above. (AU)
