Abstract

The purpose of this project is to evaluate the knowledge, attitude and personal experience of medical students regarding medical abortion. Three São Paulo State faculties were selected to participate in the study: Federal University of São Carlos, Faculdade de Medicina de Jundiaí and State University of Campinas (the public university where Cemicamp, is placed). All medical students registered in the medical schools will be invited to participate. The invitation will be done by a research assistant who will explain the research objectives and methodology. A structured questionnaire containing only closed-ended questions to be self responded will be used to collect data. The research assistant will distribute the questionnaire to the students and will instruct them to deposit the questionnaires (completed or not) in a sealed ballot box. The data will be processed and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS-PC). The Chi Square test and regression analysis will be used to evaluate the association between subject's sociodemographic characteristics and their knowledge, attitude and personal experience regarding medical abortion.
