Abstract

The debates involving the Theory of the Firm and Theory of Stakeholders started in the early 80's, when the Stakeholder Theory emerged, and are still contemporaneous and polemical. This intensive discussion promoted the development of several empirical studies looking for evidences to support one or other Theory. This research proposes to address a specific issue in this debate: is there (or not) a dominance of a stakeholder over others stakeholders? The main goal of this study is to answer the proposed question based in the evidence of an empirical research. To conduct this research an empirical framework for analysis will be built. Data collection will be gathered through data bases, questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis will use statistical multivariate methods. The main expected finding is a relevant contribution to the Theory, more precisely, regarding the proposed research question. It is also expected some empirical contribution as result of the developed framework for analysis. Other kind of contribution refers to development of human resources throughout the orientation activity. (AU)
