Abstract

Our objective is to analyze the dynamics of micro and small companies, having from 10 to 100 employees, who use financial, human and technological resources in their activities. These are companies which produce services and goods, in a specific region, having a significant number of clients. A significant number sample will be used, but it is a convenience sample, willing to provide information, estimated that 32 companies have already been raised. We will study the application of the concepts of strategy, structure and the management competencies necessary for the performance of micro and small companies. We will verify the alignment, consistency and coherence between them. We will analyze the organizational design and the characterization of the managerial board, the determinants of strategy used and the organizational skills of each company. This is a study of relevant and significant sample in relation to the region, but it is a sample of convenience. We will seek a segment of organizations which provide services and goods in the region of Campo Limpo Paulista. Some challenges are encountered in the definition of the organizational competencies necessary in the arrangement of resources and in defining the business strategy. These are companies which try to work with qualified professionals and offer good quality services and goods as perceived by their employees and that attend the expectation of their clients. This research will try to find the possible peculiarities in the management of companies in the region, which are influenced economically, politically and socially by Sao Paulo and Campinas. (AU)
