Models of body growth and nutrient deposition in the carcass of the bullfrog in aquatic and terrestrial stages

Abstract

The aim of this study is to establish curves of body growth, morphometric and nutrient deposition in the carcass of bullfrog phases aquatic and terrestrial, through mathematical models are not linear. Work will be performed at the Aquaculture Center of Unesp, Jaboticabal, SP, it will be divided into two sub-project, a sub-project will evaluate the performance of bullfrog tadpoles to metamorphosis (aquatic phase) and sub -project 2 will evaluate froglets of bullfrog to reach slaughter weight of 200g (terrestrial phase). The tadpoles will be housed in boxes of 100 L asbestos and froglets are housed in stalls versatile 12m2. The animals for both phases will be weighed, measured and a sample will be collected for laboratory analysis of nutrients (protein, fat, ash and moisture) deposited in the carcass of these, the sampling for tadpoles will be every 10 days and for post-metamorphic every 14 days. After the data collected in these field and laboratory will be analyzed to estimate the parameters of the models for body growth, morphometry and nutrient deposition in the carcass by the Gauss Newton method modified by nonlinear regression using the NLIN procedure of SAS. The model is the Gompertz. Based on the estimated equation, they will calculate the growth rates versus time (t) through the derivative of the equations. (AU)
