Abstract

An area of increasing emphasis on forensic dentistry is human identification, which means defining the identity of each person and, thereafter, to distinguish them from each other. It can be obtained through various techniques, but currently, the molecular genetic methodology establishes himself as a good technique, establishing himself a the foundation for future identification process. To proceed with human identification, using this methodology, must collect and analyze genetic material, which can be obtained from various sources of biological evidence. Among all known sources, one is of great interest to forensic dentistry, teeth, and, accordingly, the integrity of the sample to the laboratory is essential for successful results and major difficulties in maintaining the material in perfect conditions with regard to storage, a problem that is accentuated with the unfavorable conditions at the majority of crime scenes and also by the different structural conditions available. This study aims to evaluate the extraction capacity of the DNA recovered from human dental tissues which are stored in different conditions of temperature and time using the product Allprotect Tissue Reagent ® (Qiagen ®, Hilden, Germany) until the DNA extraction and amplification.
