Abstract

This study aims to profile the thoracic surgeons in the Brazilian territory, raising details of their academic training, migration, professional performance and other data that may support future health policy decisions in this area. Data collection will be based on completion of a quantitative instrument with a qualitative approach, specifically developed for this study. This electronic instrument collection will be available to surgeons to obtain the answers. The questionnaire consists of about 85 questions, divided into the following areas: General Information, Medical Training, Training in General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery Training, Other Specialties, Professional Practice, Linking to Teaching and Research, Membership to Professional Associations, Compensation and Job Satisfaction. The questionnaire was programmed in a electronic format and will be distributed after an awareness campaign to your target audience, i.e., members of the Brazilian Society of Thoracic Surgeons (SBCT), via e-mail with a link to the DATASUS site, where the research will be hosted.
