Abstract

Chronic dizziness, defined as persistence of dizzy for more than three months, may has as pathogenesis new brain connections between the vestibular system and the limbic system. Often anxiety disorders is observed in patients with chronic dizziness. Our goal is to study women whose age are between 18 and 60 years old, with chronic dizziness, basead on history, physical examination and standardized testing at Neurotology Clinic of the Hospital das Clínicas, University of São Paulo, and add a psychological profile analysis based on standardized tests for anxiety and depression. The patients will be eligibie for posturography and functional resonance of the brain with paradigm as the viewing of images that bring them feelings of anxiety. The study aims to evaluate prevalence of anxiety on this population and confirm the hypothesis of increasing the brain activity in regions related to anxiety of brain's patients. (AU)
