Abstract

Remote sensing tools are very useful in cultivate areas estimate mainly considering commodities as corn and soybean crops (summer crops). The use of vegetation index as NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and EVI (Enhanced Vegetation Index) have been employed to map agriculture areas at low cost. Often the agriculture areas mapped by remote sensing no match, in some situation, with the reality, due to spectral behavior confusion among targets that have similar spectral characteristics. The spectral behavior confusion among targets can imply in underestimate or overestimate of the cultivate areas provoking decrease in precision of yield estimate because the area evaluation is one the main parameters considered. In that context the objective is to develop an innovator methodology to able to distinguish, by image analyzes, soybean from corn crops, in Cascavel municipalitie, by second order polynomial and logarithmics equations. That proceeding will produce best evaluation of soybean and corn crops area in Paraná State, when remote sensing is used. (AU)
