Abstract

There are several diseases that can affect the urogenital system leading to lower urinary tract dysfunction. Usually, cystoplasty is performed as the alternative to repair the bladder. However, there are several further complications related to this procedure. Therefore there is a necessity to develop another alternatives. In the field of tissue engineering, there are several researches, related to this subject, which study the use of biological and sinthetic scaffolds and/or cell tranplant. Experiments with sinthetic scaffolds are related to complications. On the other hand, biological scaffolds have characteristics that could be more appropriated for tissues and organs repair. Thus, the goal of this estudy is to develop a decellularization protocol and to produce a acellular matrix derived from urinary bladder. (AU)
