Abstract

Treatment with extracorporeal shock wave, which began to be used in Medicine from the 80 cases of patients with kidney stones through the use of equipment known as a lithotripter. This study aimed to demonstrate that treatment with shock waves associated with conventional treatments will decrease the healing time and improve quality of life of patients with diabetic foot wounds. Analytical study will be a randomized clinical trial conducted at the Clinic of São Paulo Hospital - Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). How criterion inclusion patients with diabetic wounds grade I and II. After randomization patients will be divided into two groups. all patients are treated. After randomization, one group than the treatment of wounds using the products according to the Degree (01 or 02). Wound management is after the classification, Grade 1 in wounds, will be 0.9% saline solution and vapor permeable film. These provide a moist environment for healing, but have no absorbency and should not be used on infected wounds. For Grade 2 injury, the cleaning will be performed with saline 0.9% and silver plates and coal. Silver is an effective antimicrobial agent, and coal has the ability to absorb the chemicals released from pain fetid wounds such as infected. After evolution of the wound to Grade 1, the film will be vapor permeable. Another product that can be used are hydrogels, which have the capacity to absorb exudate and moisturize the wound. Has its best use in wounds with granulation tissue. The group of extracorporeal shock waves beyond the conventional treatment will be subjected to treatment with extracorporeal shock waves (AU)
