Abstract

Cooperative Comumnication exploits the broadcast nature of the wireless channel, using relay nodes to produce diversity on a point-to-point communication link. This diversity allows to increase the capacity, speed, and performance of the communication. The channel enconding process associated to this kind of diversity is named coded cooperation.Efficient point-to-point cooperative communication systems can utilize or adapt several well-known encoding techniques, such as, convolutional, turbo, LDPC, RS encoding. The aim of this research project is to exploit the characteristics of the cooperative communication associated to a binary or non-binary encoding process in order to obtain simpler more reliable and efficient communications systems.
