Abstract

Usually three-phase induction machines either cage or winding rotor type, have traditional three-phase stator windings into slots distributed. During last years the research about AC machines with two three-phase stator sets or even more has increased. This project concerning about induction machines with two three-phase windings shifted to each other in $30^{\circ}$ electrical configuration. That means each phase has two winding set delayed 30 electrical degrees from each other. This means a whole new approach about dynamic control of induction machines, by working with the design of the stator windings sharing with the solid state converters the power flux and control liability, having a three-phase converter for each winding set working independently. The design of a low power squirrel cage induction machine (1.5kW approximately), its characterization, the study of its performance and the exploration of new optimized control strategies are the mainly goal of that project.
