Abstract

The daily care of the female genitalia, for hygiene, or even to aesthetic reasons, it is necessary for all women. However, form, frequency and ocasion to perform it correctly are not clear, for both health professionals and women, who need more scientific basis. This practice is a daily necessity and is still not done with the proper knowledge, which would be important for the well being of women. We need to accumulate information practices of attention to female genitalia, as these are not yet available in the literature. Objective: To evaluate the daily care practices of the female genitalia in women during the reproductive period in city of Vitória - E.S. Subjects and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional population-based study in Vitória, Espirito Santo. Women will be selected from a randomization by health regions of the municipality. A questionnaire will be applied containing 57 questions related to the daily care of the female genitalia and also socio-demographic information will be colected. Analysis of data: the information will be coded and double entered using Epi Info 6.4. The significance level will be 5%. (AU)
