Abstract

Study population: 100 patients with prior Ischemic Stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack, previous hospitalization due to Acute Coronary Syndrome (unstable angina, non-ST elevation or ST-elevation myocardial infarction), current use of ASA. Exclusion Criteria: Previously known hemorrhagic stroke; use of another antiplatelet agent than ASA; use of NSAIDs and / or dipyridamole; known platelet dysfunction or platelets <150.000/¼L or > 450. 000/¼L; GFR (MDRD) <30 mL / min, in the last 6 months; terminal illness; liver disease or coagulation disorder; refuse to participate in the study.
