Improvement in UNESPNet's infrastructure aiming the connectivity to the ANSP network

Abstract

In 2012, the fifth stage of the project, the focus of the actions is to raise the level of reliability of unespNET. In this approach, is being proposed to hire two (02) new data communication links for connecting the campuses of Reitoria and Barra Funda to the Traffic Exchange Point - PTT Academic Network at São Paulo - ANSP, located in the NAP Terremark-Barueri. Those services, which would be supplied for a period of 48 (forty eight) months, would ensure the greater availability of unespNET, even in the unlikely event of simultaneous interruption of 03 (three) among the 04 (four) available network connections. Still in the direction of increasing the availability of unespNET, is being proposed the acquisition of 08 (eight) modules compatible with the 02 (two) routers purchased recently, seeking to improve its reliability and efficiency. It is also expected to engage the services of training for technicians who work at UNESP in your configuration. It is also proposed to acquire 01 (one) blade servers, which characteristics as small size, lower power and cooling consumptions, high processing power and storage capabilities, allow the creation of contingency strategies for services and applications used at UNESP. This equipment must be installed in an external data center, and configured to automatically assume the operation of the services in case of unavailability of the main structure. (AU)
