Abstract

The visit of Prof. Yavari to DEMa-UFSCar has as main objective, to contribute directly with the thematic project of our group, in advancing the understanding of the mechanical properties of metallic glasses, specifically with respect to the mechanisms of homogeneous and heterogeneous deformation and the effect of deformation in the atomic structure of this new class of metallic materials. We have already a strong collaboration between our groups in the area of mechanical properties of metallic glasses, which have resulted in several publications, and which is the basis for the working plan to be developed during the visit.
