Abstract

Recent experiments performed by the research group of at CEPOF/INOF on transmission of light through plasmonic nano-hole arrays deposited on Erbium-doped glass substrates showed that in addition to well-known SPP resonances such hybrid systems exhibit new types of resonances. These resonances are due to strong optical coupling of spp waves and Erbium atoms embedded in the glass. Using proposed self-consistent model we will scrutinize transmission and reflection properties of such systems. Since our model is not limited to linear optics we will explore how these materials can be controlled with femtosecond pump pulses future experiments. (AU)
