Abstract

The changes by the interference of man in nature have caused irreparable damage to the balance of ecosystems. Urban sprawl causes not only the loss of habitat for wild species, but also obliges the occupying areas and modified to adapt to the presence of domestic animals and man. This effect has led to the extinction of million species in the last decades, as well as the increase of pathogens in worldwide. Thus, this project aims to understand which zoonotic agents are present in two protected areas in the city of Natal situated in the urban area covering domestic and wild animals, allowing the knowledge of various risk factors for these diseases as well as evaluating the participation of each of these links in the epidemiological chain of these agents in the study location. Moreover, studies also performed with infectious disease vectors, where the ticks, which will bring information about arthropods are present in this locality, and which of the agents studied have been carried by these vectors. This information is nonexistent in Rio Grande do Norte state. (AU)
