Abstract

Edition of twenty-two by Mário de Andrade, originally published at Revista do Brasil (third phase). The chronicles are rather informal written , between August, 1938 and June, 1940 and present an interesting view of matters such as the Brazilian cultural life of the time, World War II, Brazilian musical life, among others. The chronicles anticipate the later works of Mário de Andrade, such as O Banquete, a Vida do Cantador and Shostakovich: uma introdução para o livro de Victor Seroff. (AU)
