Abstract

The signal processing and the seismic processing communities have had a long and fruitful history of cooperation. Recently, there has been an interest in resuming this cooperation, as highlighted by a recent issue of the IEEE Signal Processing Magazine on geophysical signal processing. In this context, Prof. Lopes, with a history of contributions to signal processing theory, has been developing an interesting in applying these techniques to solve problems in exploration geophysics. Prof. Leiv, on the other hand, has a long history of contributions to geophysical signal processing, with a special interest in applying tools from (AU)
