ASSESSMENT OF DIFFICULTY IN CPAP ADHESION IN PATIENTS WITH OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA SYNDROME THROUGH DRUG INDUCED SLEEP ENDOSCOPY (DISE)

Abstract

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) is characterized by repetitive airways obstruction sduring sleep. Gold-standard clinical treatment is CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure). Nevertheless, there are several reports of poor adhesion to this treatment, either due to patients complaining of closure in airways, technical conditions, ideal pressures, etc. The objective of this study is to perform DISE with the patient using CPAP, to detect possible anatomical changes that could interfere with this treatment success.
