Abstract
The aim of this project is to evaluate the prototype of an equipment ("Turbotester") designed to perform quality control (diagnosis for maintenance) of dental hand pieces (MMO) of high and low speeds (MMOA and MMOB, respectively) and ultrasonic dental scalers (ELDU), based on numerical values, meeting the demand of the dental equipment industry regulations and specifications. The study is designed to be carried out in two phases: initially in the laboratory (step 1) and then in the field (step 2), along with technical assistance in dental equipment. In step 1, 09 and 06 commercially available MMO ELDUs will be evaluated by one researcher-examiner (using Turbotester) in relation to their initial operating parameters performing a total of 135 measurements for MMOs and 90 measurements for ELDUs. In step 2, 10 selected technicians will receive the prototype of the equipment Turbotester and Evaluation Sheets A and B. In the Evaluation Sheet A will be recorded the values of rotation per minute (rpm) and frequency (Hz) of MMO e ELDU before and after the maintenance service. The evaluation Sheet B, should be filled at the end of the period of field tests and will record the level of usability of the equipment Turbotester by technicians, and the impact that its use can cause in technical assistance of MMOs ELDUs. The evaluation forms A and B will be collected monthly and their data will be analyzed using appropriate statistical methods. (AU)
