Abstract

Two experiments will be conducted to evaluate the effects of sodium gluconate (0 and 200ppm) added to a) two methionine sources, i.e. DL-Methionine (DLM) and methionine hidroxy analogue (MHA), and b) three levels of MHA (normal, reduction of 10% and 20%), on performance, carcass yield, intestinal morphometry and bone densitometry of broilers 22 to 42 days of age. Both experiments will be used male COBB® 500 broilers, distributed in a completely randomized design, in a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement (two levels of sodium gluconate and two methionine sources)and to study the effect of sodium gluconate on the levels of MHA, will be used a factorial 3 x 2 (three levels of MHA and two levels of sodium gluconate). All variables will be submitted to the variance analysis and the means compared by the Fukey test at 5% of probability. (AU)
