Abstract

The Goalball is a team sport designed for people with visual impairments and based in tact (boundary raised lines) and hearing (ball with bells inside). Despite considerable growth in the number of practitioners and media interest, the scientific studies are still undergoing, especially in relation to researches that assess the dynamics of the game in this sport and the specific behaviors of teams and players involved in high level competitions. In order to mitigate this gap and to pursue the development of study in the doctoral program, in which hypothesized that attacks with faster balls should be higher scoring chance, we aimed to analyze through this project, if the ball speed influences the outcome of the attack in male and female goalball elite. For this we will use the game analysis, through as a scientific method the systematic observation of nonparticipating game context of twenty matches played in Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games. (AU)
