Abstract

This visit aims develop and implement in Brazil a relatively new research methodology for studying some of the fundamental economic forces influencing the growth of Brazilian agriculture, and the sector linkages with the rest of the Brazilian economy. Using a dynamic growth model, we will compare per capita GDP series under a no global warming model (the base) with the per capital GDP series under several global warming scenarios, calculate the discounted present value of the difference in per capital GDP under the base model and the global warming models, and examine the potential impact of global warming on agricultural growth in Brazil.
