Abstract

The Marcus collection, very important and valuable for zoology of the Mollusks, was recently acquired by MZUSP. A preliminary curatorial care was performed concerning more urgent features. However, it is necessary to finish the curatorial work totally, and then keeping available the data of this important collection to the scientific community. The main objective is to create a laboratorial basis and conditions for finishing the curatorial work within 2 years. This includes a grant of Technical Training, and a thoughtful search in Marcus bibliography, notes and manuscripts to fulfill the absent data of most lots. Besides the collection total organization and its fusion with that of the MZUSP, there is the intention of publishing the data and to share them on the Internet. (AU)
