Abstract

The majority of lameness in cattle originates in the foot. Currently, there are only limited treatment options available and source of significant economic loss also. Among these several diseases, detach the papillomatous digital dermatites (PDD), with probable aetiology for a spirochetes. This supposed aetiology is based in found histophatological, sorological and in the answer positive front to the use of antiseptic solutions in footbath, as well as before the administration of parenteral antibiotics or topics, especially standing out the tetracyclines. The purpose of this study will be to analyze the efficiency of the treatment with soluble powdered of oxitetracycline chloridrate associated to bandages and administration injectable long action oxitetracycline, in the treatment of cows with PDD and to evaluate the presence of residues of this antibiotic in the milk, synovial fluid and plasma of these cows. 16 lactanting cows with DDP will be used. The cows will receive an initial dose of 1,1 g of soluble powdered of oxitetracycline chloridrate, associated to the bandage with subsequent changes every 48 hours (Group 1) and administrations injected every 72 hours (Group 2), totaling 3 administrations. The samples of milk, synovial fluid and plasma of all the animals will be obtained, individually, after milk them morning and evening, during 12 consecutive days for both groups. The efficiency of the treatment will be evaluated through the lameness degree and analyze of the extension of the lesion, previously and later to the treatment. The oxitetracycline concentrations in the samples of milk, synovial fluid and plasma will be certain through high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). (AU)
